Ada Kamińska’s painting series emerges from the experience of real places, filtered through memory. What remains on the canvas is their light, the temperature of colour, traces of divisions and a sense of distance. Space gradually loses its certainty: horizons fade, scale becomes elusive, and forms hover between recognition and abstraction.
White, subtle tonal transitions and fragmented lines create a tension between presence and absence, surface and depth. Quiet blues and greys meet more intense colours, shifting the rhythm of the paintings and the way they are experienced. Silence takes on different degrees of intensity — from almost empty fields to compositions that retain the memory of movement.
The individual works remain untitled, leaving their interpretation open. Associations with landscape, water or architecture arise from the viewer’s own memory. SPACES / NON-SPACES invites attentive looking and a moment spent within a space that can be experienced without being named.
