Fractions.inner edge
Galeria EL Art Center
Elbląg, Poland

The Fractions.inner edge series grew out of several years of reflection on space, first explored in Ada Kamińska’s earlier Spaces / Non-Spaces paintings.
Fractions are moments, frames seen and recorded during walks in a period of isolation: a view from a window, the sky over the Beskids, the sun and the sea. The inner edge is a sign — a personal expression of emotions, experiences and events — represented by the strong line that cuts through each composition.
Like the earlier works, these paintings are monochromatic, but planes of yellow, black or indigo organise and clarify the space. Orange, gold, blue and turquoise emerge within calm compositions. Organic and at times expressive forms remain open and absorbing, inviting the viewer to enter the canvas.
